Cyanotype is an ancient, iron-based photographic printing process that uses UV light to create blue images by placing objects on light-sensitive paper and exposing them to light. Developed in 1842 by John Herschel, the process uses the reaction of iron compounds to UV radiation to form the blue dye and is a popular technique in art and creative projects today.
